Built in 1925, the Gloucester Fire Headquarters on School Street has served the City well for more than eighty years. This edifice is showing its age, however, and if it is to remain fully operational, it is essential that repairs be made that insure in particular, the integrity of the building's structure and exterior envelope. Like so many other older buildings, the Fire Headquarters has minimal storage, and ironically, lacks an adequate fire alarm system. This project began the process of addressing the various deficiencies by providing cost estimates, prioritizing the various repairs and putting a bid package together to initiate the needed repairs.
