Located in the converted carriage house of an historic estate, the Highfield Theater has been an integral part of the Falmouth cultural scene for a half a century. Since little work has been done since the initial conversion, the building has started to show its age and deficiencies. In 2007, we did a thorough review of the existing conditions and developed a phased plan for the improvements. In the course of the Master Plan, it was determined that, in addition to preserving the historic stick-style building, the structure should be brought into compliance with modern building and safety codes, have its mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems modernized, have its operational capabilities upgraded and its parking area significantly expanded.
