A gift to the town in 1896, the Leicester Public Library has been a well-used resource ever since. Since the building was first built the population has grown five-fold and the increased use has stretched the library beyond its limit. Among a variety of other issues, this study has identified several site limitations that will need to be addressed before the plans will be submitted in the next MBLC Grant round. We worked with the Town Administrator to negotiate to facilitate greater parking and better site access. Since the town was not sure it would be able to acquire the extra land, we had to remain flexible in the design process and plan for a variety of contingencies.
