Taylor-Bray Farmhouse Renovation

Although this circa 1800 farmhouse had fallen into disrepair in recent years, it represented an important glimpse into Yarmouth's agrarian past and the town wanted to give it a new lease on life. The goals of the project were to improve the building so it oculd support a wider array of programs at the farm, to make it safe, secure and accessible for visitors, and to minimize its operational and maintenance costs. Improvements include the rebuilding and restoration of the historic kitchen hearth and brick oven and the reconstruction of a shed addition to accomodate accessible toilet rooms that can be entered from the exterior, so they can be used even when the rest of the farmhouse is closed.
