Over the past one hundred years, every square inch of historic town hall has been forced into service. The once proud main hall has been carved into a small toilet room, small offices and long hallways. Since those alterations, even the makeshift meeting hall has been overtaken with file cabinets and storage. in some departments, as many as five desks have been crowded into a single office. Through this schematic design/feasibility study, we devised a way to restore the town hall to its original glory and add much needed office space to this historic building. This study also describes the scope of work required to provide universal accessibility, something sorely lacking under the existing conditions.
