Virginia Blanchard Building Renovation
The Virginia Blanchard School in Uxbridge, Massachusetts has been a beloved friend as long as all of the town can remember. After more than 100 years of continuous use, the school department abandoned the building in 2004. Since then a dedicated group of volunteers have been working to update this town asset and reuse the facility as a modern municipal office annex and community resource. The primary goals of the study were to develop a preliminary building program, to analyze the life safety and code limitations, and estimate the probable project cost. The feasibility study was funded by a grant from the Massachusetts Historical Commission.
